Update on foundational supports

The NDIA gave IAC Members an update on foundational supports.

Foundational supports are disability supports for all people with disability.

This includes people with disability who don’t take part in the NDIS.

The NDIA are working with:

  • parts of the Australian Government

  • state and territory governments.

They are working to create rules about how foundational supports should work.

They are also working on ways to make sure foundational supports work well for:

  • people with disability

  • families and carers of people with disability.

The NDIA asked IAC Members what they think about foundational supports.

IAC Members said all foundational supports need to work well:

  • in different states and territories

  • with NDIS supports.
